Phone guy was rude and would not explain what he was asking me to do. Nobody has followed up even though I have emailed a copy of my bank statement and cancelled check as proof of payment. Still, I show behind. Call me and fix this.

Listen to the customer. If something he/she says is clear, don't act stupid and try to change the terminology used rather than deal with the issue.
