Sean Hennessey

Sean Hennessey is a Branch Manager, residential mortgage strategist, and longtime homebuyer educator with more than 20 years of experience in residential mortgage lending. Sean’s experience spans a broad range of residential financing, including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, jumbo, construction-to-permanent, investment property, DSCR, portfolio, and specialty mortgage solutions. Rather than focusing on any single loan program, his approach is to understand the buyer’s complete situation, evaluate the available options, and build a financing strategy around the buyer’s goals. Education has been a major part of Sean’s career. For more than 15 years, he has taught homebuyer and VA education and has led more than 1,000 classes for consumers, Veterans, service members, and real estate professionals. Sean and Margie Hennessey created HomebuyingFORrookies™, which evolved into HBFR.org™, a homebuyer education platform offering live education on first-time homebuying, VA financing, investment properties, and other residential mortgage strategies. Sean built much of his mortgage career serving Maryland and the greater Washington, DC region before relocating to Tampa, Florida. He has helped thousands of homebuyers throughout his career and has been nationally recognized by mortgage industry publications, including Scotsman Guide and Mortgage Executive Magazine.
