YASMEEN SAYYAH is a member of the M&A practice in Sidley's San Francisco office. Prior to joining Sidley, Yasmeen worked as a transactional law summer associate and privacy and data security law clerk at a national law firm. She also served as a legal intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California. Yasmeen earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she served as inaugural president of the Middle Eastern and South Asian Law Students Association, as well on the board of UC Irvine's National Lawyers Guild chapter. She also served as policy program coordinator for International Refugee Assistance Project, on the board of Street Law, and as a Fresh Lifelines for Youth mentor. She earned pro bono high honors each year of law school, totaling over 200 hours of pro bono. Yasmeen also participated in UC Irvine's International Justice Clinic, working directly with former UN Special Rapporteur David Kaye on digital rights in the Middle East. Prior to law school, Yasmeen served in Teach for America as a middle school teacher. Yasmeen earned her B.A., summa cum laude , from the University of Alabama in English.
