Bill Simmons is a partner in the Seattle office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice.Bill was born and raised in the Seattle area, and attended the University of Washington for undergraduate studies. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in History and Minor in Political Science. After working for several years as a paralegal at insurance defense firms in San Diego and Las Vegas, Bill attended and graduated from William Boyd Law School at UNLV.Following law school, Bill returned to the Seattle area and spent five years at one of the prominent Seattle insurance defense firms, Murray Dunham & Murray. His practice at Murray Dunham and Murray was focused on construction defect litigation and general liability defense, including auto-accident and premises liability.In July 2013 Bill began working at Lewis Brisbois, specializing in general liability and construction defect litigation. He has twelve years' experience representing subcontractors and general contractors in construction defect litigation. He also has seven years' experience representing homeowner associations and board members in litigation matters. This included a bench trial on board governance issues and a three-week jury trial on homeowner disputes.In 2019 Bill successfully defended a client through jury trial on a premise's liability matter. Since 2005 He has successfully argued motions for summary judgment, and achieved positive results for clients through arbitration and mediation in a wide array of general liability matters, including third-party injury litigation, UIM litigation, Fair Housing, racial discrimination, large-loss trucking, toxic tort/environmental litigation, insurance bad faith litigation and timber trespass.
