I spent the first 50 years of my life getting the experience and skills that I use every day representing my Clients and friends with their Real Estate requirements, buying and selling properties, marketing assets and researching opportunities. I was born in 1955 to an Air Force Officer in Bittburg, West Germany. As a military dependent I traveled "all over"; moving every 3-4 years as military families do, adapting to new places, people and culture. As the oldest of seven kids, I learned to share with and protect my brothers and sisters. As a young man my father helped me financially with school and I worked as well. During summer and breaks I worked in construction as a framer- a skill that helped me understand how homes are built from the ground up. It is insight not taught at the University and I use this knowledge from time to time in my Real Estate business. Later I got married to my life partner Evelyn and went to work for a local Chevrolet Dealership. I stayed with that career field for over 25 years, selling, managing, and marketing new and used cars and trucks. In the process I learned the people and product skills necessary to run a successful automobile dealership. The "car business" was very good to me so in 1995 Evelyn and I bought a small farm in Saluda, VA so that she could pursue her own dream of growing specialty cut flowers for local distribution. She currently sell at Williamsburg Farmer's Market and counts many local florists as customers and friends. We raised our two sons, two nieces, currently have another young one with us and lots of dogs, cats, chickens and goats For the last ten years I have commuted to Newport News daily; I started with William E Wood Associates and have been with this great Company right through the latest "combining" with Howard Hanna. I can't imagine a finer group of professionals. The team in my office are dedicated to doing the job right!
