For more than 25 years, I have served national, international, and local clients looking for uncommon properties.Professionally, I'm a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the North Carolina Association of Realtors (NCAR), the Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC), and the Realtors Land Institute (RLI). I have been a presenter at the Asheville Land Development Conference and served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Realtors Land Institute.Prior to founding Sheelah Clarkson Agency, I worked as the Vice President of Corporate Real Estate for Clarkson Brothers Inc. an industrial machinery relocation firm. In that position, I was responsible for industrial and commercial warehousing and distribution. There, I built, leased, managed, and owned 2 million square feet in three states. Prior to joining Clarkson Brothers, I was on the faculty at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia where I taught English. Along the way, I have also had the pleasure of being the co-owner of a small bookstore in both Landrum, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina.Over the years, I've been involved in community service. For 10 years, I was a commissioner on the Spartanburg County Planning and Development Commission. I've also been an Advisory Board Member for the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member on the Landrum Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member on the Polk County Chamber of Commerce. For more than 10 years, I served as the Sponsorship Chair and Steering Committee Member, for the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival, the state championship BBQ festival of North Carolina.
