About
I moved to Yellville, AR with my husband Robert in 2020. After selling our home in Colorado, we chose Yellville because of the beautiful landscape of the Ozark Mountains and crystal-clear water in the area. We began clearing our land and using the timber to mill and construct our present home. I have a long history of family who have lived in the Ozarks many years. My great grandparents owned Pleasant Lumber in Mountain Home, AR. My grandparents ran the telephone company in Flippin, AR where my grandmother ran the switchboard. My mother was born in Mountain Home, AR. I presently have several family members (Pleasants) who live in Salem, AR. I traveled back to this area as a child and remember riding the ferry across Norfork Lake before the bridge was constructed. I was drawn back to this area because of the four seasons, beautiful countryside and honorable people.I was born and raised in Colorado. My life as a child and young adult consisted of working next to my father, who built manufactured homes and condominiums in Colorado. When I graduated high school, I left home to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. I graduated with an associate's degree in secretarial studies. I then worked at the Colorado Department of Highways in Durango working with the right-of-way supervisor. This gave me experience with the process of eminent domain and acquiring land for the construction of roads. I then married my first husband and moved to Texas where we lived in the country. Big change for a kid who always lived in town. I fell in love with the country and working the land. We raised hogs and cattle and processed the meat ourselves. We also cut our own hay and baled for our use and to sell. We had two children and as soon as they both were in school, I went to work at the school. My husband ended up dying of lung cancer at the young age of 41 at which time I found myself needing to provide better for my children. I attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX and acquired a vocational teaching certificate and became the Elementary Technology Teacher for eleven years. At which time I married my husband Robert, and we moved to Colorado. A lifelong dream for me to return back to my home state. After moving to Westcliffe, CO I started teaching Elementary through eighth grade technology classes for two years. Robert started a job working in Culbertson, Montana so I said to myself, "Why not move up there and work also?" So, I got a job working in Montana for a field services company as their accounts payable clerk and billing clerk. This gave me a lot of experience working with aggregate materials and the legal ramifications associated with legal issues at mineral pits. We finally moved back to our home in Westcliffe where I worked for a concrete and excavation company. The excavation company opened my eyes to the needs of homeowners in their process of building their homes and all the governmental requirements for permits. When moving to the Yellville area I tried my hand at working as a purchasing agent at ASUMH for two years, but my heart still longed to work for the small business owner. The people who make this country the great land we live in. My daughter, who is also a Keller Williams agent in Texas, kept persuading me to get my real estate license and work with people to help them realize their American dream. So here I am today pursuing that dream of helping people own their own home. One of the most gratifying realizations is when you open the door to your first home and know it is all yours. I have acquired a great deal of knowledge over the years in my different experiences. I believe I can be the best real estate agent for my clients. If there is something I don't know, believe me I will find the answer. I want to be a lifelong friend to my clients. I want them to feel like they can ask me anything, whether it pertains to real estate or the best restaurants in the area, not that I eat out a lot. I send out a hundred Christmas cards every year to folks I have met through all my endeavors. I have been blessed with good friendships, and I never want to take them for granted. I look forward to being a part of the Keller Williams family. I want to represent KW well in the Twin Lakes area of North Central Arkansas. Call me to help you buy or sell your home or land!!
