Get all of your quotes on the same day as bank rates change at least daily. 2. Require the representative to disclose all of the cost numbers in your quote: A. The Interest Rate B. The Discount Points used to generate that rate (ask for all quotes with ZERO discount points). C. The APR- Annual Percentage Rate. This contemplates and interest rate and other bank fees for securing the loan. These total costs are expressed as a percent. All other things being equal, lower APR wins. D. Bank Fees or Origination Fees- this is the part of your closing costs that the bank keeps.
