When you've traveled the world as a child in a military household, you learn the power of a home. Every few years we would pack up our lives, move to a new house and make it our own. The experience of walking into a new house and creating a home has stayed with me into adulthood and it's my privilege to make those experiences a reality for my clients. As a girl, I helped my parents with resale and new construction home purchases and those experiences gave me a strong foundation in the world of real estate. There's no one more meticulous in a home purchase than a decorated Army colonel and I learned so much from our experiences buying dozens of houses. As a young adult, my heart settled in Kansas City and I became a member of the Urban Core Group in the 1990s, where I was involved in the redevelopment of downtown KC. Working downtown at a high end interior design center, I led design and buying for a 75,000 sqft showroom, negotiated international contract terms and learned to forecast trends in the world of interior design. The skills I acquired during my time there have become vital to my real estate business as I help sellers stage listings that appeal to a wide range of buyers and help buyers find homes that will stay modern and adapt to their future. I ventured into real estate in 2006, finding that it was not only a passion, but a career that let me utilize the skills I learned in sales, contract negotiation and design, along with a disciplined code of ethics from my military upbringing.
