Samuel Terpstra began his career as an attorney, working in the environmental and land use fields. After several years of practicing, Sam discovered an aptitude for working with large data sets in litigation, and, in 2019, Sam transitioned from legal work to become an e-discovery professional. He has worked on matters across practice areas including construction defects, product liability, labor, trade secrets, white collar investigations, bankruptcy, voting rights, and commercial litigation. Sam consults with attorneys and paralegals on e-discovery matters to recommend technology solutions that target relevant data, enhance and manage document review, and conserve cost. Sam is focused on helping case teams understand, strategize, and efficiently use defensible, managed document review workflows. Sam's successes include start-to-finish document collection, processing, review, and production for a multiparty arbitration; coordinating a massive data intake project that resulted in over 50 million documents in an ongoing litigation; and managing a project to convert and review hundreds of boxes of hardcopy documents into a digital review platform. He maintains an exceptional standard of work product and attention to detail. Sam is a Relativity Certified Review Management Specialist and has experience with document review and litigation software, including Relativity, DISCO, West Case Notebook, and TrialDirector.
