Hunter has been a shareholder of Heekin Litigation Group, since 2002, and began association with the firm following graduation from law school in 1996. Hunter has enjoyed a diverse practice, including disputes amongst business owners, divorces and child custody issues, modifications in family court, creditor's rights in and out of bankruptcy court, appellate practice, landlord and tenant rights, infringement of trademarks and copyrights, securities fraud and other fraudulent practices, and other general commercial litigation and contract disputes. Hunter uses his experience as an attorney as well as his personal growth in other areas to relate to clients' needs and concerns.Hunter was born in Englewood, New Jersey, and grew up in Pinellas County, Florida. Hunter obtained his undergraduate degree in communication studies from The Florida State University in 1993. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Hunter continued at The Florida State University College of Law where he obtained his juris doctorate degree, summa cum laude, in 1996. In law school, Hunter contributed as an Articles Editor of the Law Review and as Executive Editor of the Environmental and Land Use Journal. Hunter also became a mentor for newer students who were adjusting to the demands of law school. Having enjoyed his experience as a mentor, Hunter later enjoyed an experience as an adjunct professor at Florida Coastal School of Law.Hunter is admitted to practice in the State of Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association.Hunter lives in Jacksonville with his son and daughter. He enjoys coaching his children's sports teams, encouraging others, boxing, running, writing, reading and spending time with his family.
