Ronald Green focuses his practice on a wide variety of matters such as corporate governance, public-private partnerships, government relations, and public, project, and bond financings. Ronald draws on his unique experience of serving as a member of the Houston city council for six years, followed by six years as the city controller and chief financial officer. Among other major economic initiatives, and in addition to his ongoing oversight responsibilities for the city, he led the issuance and refinancing of more than $15.5 billion in tax-exempt and $2.3 billion in taxable bonds, including more than $3.2 billion in conduit financing. In addition to his experience as an elected official for one of the nation's largest cities, he has also served an in in-house attorney, a C-suite-level executive, and opened his own firm. He is able to use this experience to provide his clients with a wide array of legal counsel on public-private partnerships, public and project finance, securities, economic development, corporate governance and compliance, infrastructure, debt restructuring, government relations, and similar matters. Ronald has experience representing clients from almost every sector. This includes publicly traded and privately held corporations in healthcare, energy, hospitality, construction, transportation, banking and finance, and more. In addition, he has also worked with school districts, universities, not-for-profit organizations, and government entities. He also serves as underwriters' counsel in bond transactions and as bond and disclosure counsel on tax-exempt and taxable financings. Ronald is also a certified mediator. Previously, Ronald served as regional counsel for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and as district counsel for the Texas Council of Alpha Chapters. He was an adjunct professor of public finance at the Barbara Jordan Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University. He speaks frequently before legal and trade associations and is a go-to commentator on legal issues for media outlets such as Bloomberg News and C-SPAN as well as financial and industry publications.
