I grew up in River Forest, Illinois, and graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School. I finished college essentially in three years at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, then went to law school at Loyola University in Chicago. I couldn't sing, so rock star was out. I needed glasses, so fighter pilot was also out. I wanted to be a lawyer as long as I can remember (I am the first in my family). I wanted to look out for people and be the person they trusted to tell their closest secrets and to confide in.
