Jamie's professional background encompasses over 35 years experience in sales, training and management. She completed an Applied Science degree in 1992. College studies included a focus on business and finance. While raising her children, she obtained her Texas Real Estate Sales License and Texas Real Estate Broker License. During that time, she also managed investment properties. Jamie was Vice President/Banking Manager for BBVA Compass formerly Guaranty Bank in Kaufman for twelve years. She received the company's highest award for top performing manager, the Michael J. Cornwall Award twice and has served on the President's Advisory Board several years. She is most proud of her three sons DD, Sterling and Gerald. Jamie adopted DD when he was 13 and homeless in Terrell. In today's terminology, all the boys would be considered at-risk. They have overcome great odds; the two oldest boys have both graduated from SMU and Gerald, the youngest, graduated from University of Mississippi. Her sons have an awesome story that have motivated kids and adults alike through their unconditional love and commitment to sharing their lives with others. Jamie is involved with her two sons in their motivational speaking company Brothers By Choice LLC. Their mission is to positively impact teenager's lives by showing them how to overcome adversity through their story. They speak at schools, civic groups and youth organizations. Jamie is married to Dr. Peter Running and he is retired superintendent of schools.
