During my last week at the Medical College of Ohio, faculty brought in speakers from various financial professions to close out our education. One of these speakers asked our class what we thought Albert Einstein said was the most powerful force in the Universe. After some class deliberation, the speaker then stated “Einstein thought the most powerful force in the universe was compounding interest. He called it the Eighth Wonder of the World.” This was my fortuitous introduction to my future financial advisor career and the field of investments, an experience that would turn out to be life changing. After college, I began the first ten years of my career as an orthopedic physical therapist and the next seven managing a territory for a medical device company. While I liked my work in the medical field, I longed for a change. I wanted to form long-term relationships in the field that I was passionate about. So, in 2014, after intense training and years of independent study, I began my own career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones.In my office, our approach involves helping our clients determine their goals and timelines, then tailoring a strategy to help meet those milestones – while mitigating the risks inherent to investing. We will coordinate with their attorney, tax professional and other business consultants if necessary – as involving the entire team is key to creating a comprehensive, sound financial strategy. I commit to seeing this process through to completion with all of our clients. As for me personally, Amy and I live 20 minutes from my office in the City of Thornton. We love the numerous outdoor activities that Colorado offers, including hiking, camping and cycling (including the Triple By-Pass and Courage Classic). I also have worked locally with the Rotary Club and have been a recent member of the Brighton Parks and Recreation Sub-Committee for a Bicycle Friendly Brighton, a project that I believe will add tremendous value for the community.
