Patrick Clancy is California's foremost authority on sex crime defense having won more sex crime defense verdicts than any other attorney in California by far. Patrick Clancy is a prominent figure in legal advocacy, recognized nationally for challenging influential victim movements over the last six decades, from "Child Protection" to "Me Too." As the first individual commissioned by the American Bar Association to address false child molestation accusations, Mr. Clancy contributed a groundbreaking article to the Criminal Justice Law Review Journal in 1990 titled 'False Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse: Why is it Happening, What Can We Do.' Mr. Clancy also produced impactful documentaries, including A System Out of Balance, which exposed the flaws within the "Child Protection" system and highlighted the consequences of its excesses. His documentary Making Memories, aired on PBS and CBC, critically examined and discredited the "Recovered Memory" and "Satanic Cults" movements as pseudoscientific. Mr. Clancy is also the co-author of Has a Child Been Molested?, a widely referenced book first published in 1997. This work reveals how well-meaning professionals and caregivers can inadvertently contribute to false abuse allegations by relying on junk science theories, leading to wrongful convictions of innocent people.
