Amy Tobias was born in Florida andraised in Georgia and Kentucky. She spent her undergraduate years inChicago, spending summers in New York City. In 2004, Amy settled inVirginia after graduating cum laude from Northwestern University witha degree in Communications. Her passion for law emerged during alegal argument class, prompting her to attend the Washington Collegeof Law at American University, where she served as President of theMoot Court Honor Society and received the Stephen Wermiel Award forher contributions.Initiallyaiming to be a prosecutor, Amy shifted her focus to criminal defenseafter recognizing the need for adequate representation fordefendants. After clerking at the Arlington County Circuit Court, shebecame one of the first attorneys at the newly established Office ofthe Public Defender in Arlington. Amy later transitioned to privatepractice, focusing on criminal defense, family law, and personalinjury. In 2015, she founded Tobias Law PLLC in Manassas, evolvinginto Tobias Iszard, PC, with partner Ashleigh Iszard. Amy's extensiveexperience in family law includes successful appeals in the VirginiaCourt of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Virginia, alongside heractive involvement in local bar associations.
