Sean primarily handles the operational and administrativefunctions of Hatch, Little & Bunn, LLP, and handles select legal matters ona referral basis.Practicing over twenty years, Sean carries the willingness totry anything, anywhere. As first-chair, Sean has tried contested matters inSuperior Court (including civil and criminal matters tried to jury verdict),U.S. District Court, State District Court, Magistrates Court, the N.C. Court ofAppeals, local government boards, North Carolina government agencies, FederalBankruptcy Court, and U.S. Army courts-martial. Though willing to go to trial,wisdom drawn from these experiences informs him that in nearly every case, agood settlement beats a great trial.In addition to his trial practice, Sean advises small businessesthrough every step and controversy, from formation to dissolution.Beyond his civilian practice, Sean served 28 years as a JAGCofficer with the U.S. Army Reserves prior to retiring in 2021. Sean deployed tothe Middle East, dual-hatted as BJA and Senior Trial Counsel for a Brigade andSustainment Command, respectively, during the "Surge". He subsequently deployedin 2016-2017 as the SJA for the 2-star Special Operations Task Force leadingthe fight against ISIS in Syria and Iraq.Sean and his wife have two daughters and a collie.
