Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Joshua was an associate at another international law firm. Joshua received his A.B. in Politics from Princeton University in 1994. Joshua received his J.D. from the Duke University School of Law in 2000, where he served as articles editor for the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law and co-chair of the Moot Court Board. Joshua clerked for the Honorable Jon P. McCalla in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Representative matters:* Member of the defense team representing of one of the largest health care services companies in the U.S. against allegations that the defendants conspired to limit the territorial distribution rights of certain pharmaceuticals, and that the client utilized exclusive dealing contracts to foreclose competition in the market. * Represented multiple corporate clients as plaintiffs in one of the largest multi-district litigation antitrust actions in the country alleging that a cartel of major international manufacturers fixed the prices of LCD displays used in computer monitors, laptops, cell phones, and other products. * Represented a large insurance company in an arbitration with providers over compensation for certain medical procedures. * Member of the defense trial team in an antitrust class action lawsuit against California's largest utility and affiliated companies in which the plaintiffs sought over $20 billion in damages. Also represented the company in a contemporaneous investigation by the California Attorney General. * Represented a large ticketing services company in a private antitrust action by a competitor alleging monopolization and attempted monopolization through the use of exclusive dealing contracts. The case was dismissed on a successful summary judgment motion. * Represented a company that hosts televised poker tournaments in an antitrust action brought by seven professional poker players alleging tying, group boycott, conspiracy to monopolize, and unreasonable restraint of trade. * Represented a client accused of trade secret misappropriation in connection with online software technology. * Represented a company in a criminal antitrust and obstruction of justice investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice and a second civil investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission. AffiliationsJoshua is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bienvenidos, a non-profit, community-based organization providing a comprehensive array of culturally responsive services that empower children and their families and are effective models of prevention and intervention, including foster care, parenting classes for teenage parents, and domestic violence prevention and counseling.
