When the move was complete, we were under the impression that the job went great! It wasn't until much later that we received a complaint from [member name removed] about the move and the damaged clock. She watched as we put every item in the garage carefully and where she wanted it. It was her friends and family members that moved all these items into the home months later. The clock is over 100 years old and may have just stopped working, there is no physical damage done. However, we offered to pay for the repair of the clock in full at $419.00. This was all stated in a settlement letter I mailed to her just 2 weeks ago, she has not returned my call or a letter. The initial estimate was based on packing and moving her belongings from Colorado Springs to Grand Juction, Co. and placing the items in her home. A last minute change of plans had us put everything in the garage. It was this change that added more time and therefor more dollars to the move. If we had moved everything into the home, we would have set up the grandfather clock, the beds and placed all her furniture where it goes. It was the act of stacking all her furniture and boxes in a small garage and placing each item in a specific place that added a considerable amount of time and frustration to her move. As the owner of Moving Day, Inc., I have tried to resolve this issue with multiple phone calls, letters and emails and have offered the full refund of $419.00., I cant do any more. I offered the $419.00 refund to Mrs. [Member name removed] over the phone and in a settlement letter that I sent her she was asked to sign the letter and return it to Moving Day, she did not. Instead, she contacted Angie's List and filed a complaint. The refund was offered under special circumstances that were not met. The refund offer is no longer being offered unless she will comply with the settlement letter.
