Molly Shirer is Partner at Parlatore Law Group and focuses her practice on special needs estate planning in the areas of guardianships, conservatorships, special needs trusts, public benefits planning, and probate matters.As the mother of a developmentally disabled young adult, Ms. Shirer has devoted her life to advocating for his educational and legal needs and feels passionately about focusing her practice on serving this community. Special needs children and young adults require careful planning and advocacy at every stage of their lives. Ms. Shirer's life experiences and professional skill set gives her a unique perspective, which allows Parlatore Law Group to be best equipped to serve clients and work with the disabled and special-needs communities in Southern California.Prior to entering the practice of law, Ms. Shirer earned certification from the University of San Diego as a Special Education Advocate. She devoted her time advocating for children with special needs as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and Educational Surrogate. In addition to providing special needs estate planning for individuals and families with complex issues, Ms. Shirer volunteers her time with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program in their Guardianship Clinic. In 2020, she received their Distinguished Service Award. She also received the Wiley W. Manuel Award in 2019 and 2020 from the California Lawyer's Association for Pro Bono work performed for low-income clients.Ms. Shirer is active in the Probate Attorneys of San Diego (PASD), where she is a contributing author to the Probate Handbook (2023-2024). She is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), the San Diego County Probate Bench-Bar Committee, and the California Lawyer's Association/Trust and Estates section. Most notably, Ms. Shirer serves as a Court-Appointed Attorney and Guardian Ad Litem on a wide array of probate and trust matters in San Diego County Superior Court.She is fully bilingual in French.Ms. Shirer is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court in the Central and Southern Districts of California. She currently lives in Coronado, California, with her husband and son.
