Miriam P. Maxwell joined Vasquez Estrada & Conway LLP in April 2002. She is a career litigator with experience in toxic torts, construction defects, franchise law, and contracts. Her case management handling includes all pre-trial workup, settlement negotiations, and trial. Before joining the firm, Ms. Maxwell litigated asbestos personal injury cases with the St. Peter Law Group for four years. Prior to joining the St. Peter firm, she was the Director of the Alternative Sentencing Program for the Center on Juvenile & Criminal Justice in San Francisco. Ms. Maxwell also previously maintained a general civil litigation, real estate and franchise practice for several years as an associate with a San Francisco medium-sized law firm. Ms. Maxwell earned her Bachelor's Degree in Government and Philosophy in 1967 from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She was awarded a Master's Degree in Education from Boston University in 1973. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 1981, where she received an American Jurisprudence Award in Civil Procedure and was the recipient of a "Joanie Caucus Fellowship." Ms. Maxwell has held appointments as the Assistant Director of the San Francisco District Attorney's Victim-Witness Program and as the Director of the Sheriff's Education Release Program in Middlesex County, MA. Ms. Maxwell is admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court, Northern District of California. She is also a member of the County Bar Associations of Marin and Alameda.
