Michael Gilmartin was born and raised in Southern California to loving parents who engrained in him a strong moral code which stressed the importance of hard work and compassion towards others.Upon completion of high school, Michael earned a scholarship to play Division One college baseball at Wofford College in Spartanburg South Carolina. During his illustrious collegiate career, Michael garnered all conference accolades and was named All Southern Conference three years in a row. His accomplishments did not go unnoticed and after his junior year, Michael was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the Major League Baseball draft in 2009. He went on to play professional baseball for 8 years before finally returning to Wofford to finish and earn a degree in History.
