After spending his childhood years in Athens, Georgia, swimming on scholarship for the University of Georgia, and working on a Panamanian freighter plying the waters of the southern Caribbean, the president of LAH Sotheby's International Realty entered the Birmingham real estate market in 1977. Maurice is happily married to his wife Marian, and they have two children and five perfect grandchildren. Maurice's real estate experience includes commercial and residential site acquisition and development, property management, office and retail leasing, and commercial sales. Maurice was one of the three original founders of LAH Real Estate, Inc. in 1992 along with Jim Lawrence and Keith Arendall. In the fall of 2011, Maurice joined with Tom Carruthers, Charles Robinson and Mike Graham to acquire the ownership interest of Lawrence and Arendall, and at that time Maurice became the chief operating officer of the company.
