Matthew Libroia is an experienced trial attorney who focuses his practice on general liability matters. As an Assistant District Attorney in the County Court Trial Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, Matthew specialized in the prosecution of animal cruelty cases and arson cases, among others. He took 10 trials to verdict and conducted approximately 50 pretrial hearings. In addition, Matthew maintained a caseload as high as 300-plus misdemeanor cases and he negotiated 500-plus plea agreements with opposing counsel. Matthew's experience includes working as a legal intern with the San Diego District Attorney's Office Family Protection and Narcotics Divisions, where he researched complex legal issues, including comparative state law relating to the three-strikes law; drafted motions for the deputy district attorneys; and argued preliminary examinations and motion hearings. While receiving his juris doctor at the University of San Diego School of Law, Matthew was a member of the National Mock Trial Team and participated in the TYLA (Texas Young Lawyers Association) Mock Trial Competition and the McLennon Moot Court Competition. He was the recipient of a Dean's Honor Scholarship.
