Following 11 years with another bank and a short haitus with a home loan company, he and his team landed with HomeStreet Bank in early 2012. He is a perennial recipient of Mortgage Originator Magazine's "Top 200 Loan Officers" honors and has been a contributing writer to a number of publications within the industry. Matt grew up in Sitka, Alaska and attended the University of Portland (undergrad) and Notre Dame (grad). He lives with his wife, Heather, and his two children, Gage and Abi, in Battle Ground, Washington. When he isn't nestled behind his desk slinging mortgages, Matt enjoys playing the piano and writing non-sequitur essays. Matt is rather modest about his accomplishments but remains very prideful about the time he defended a a bus full of school children from a pack of ravenous dogs using nothing more than a nine-iron and a Costco sized bag of Kibbles-n-Bits. It remains among his most impressive feats.
