I was admitted to the Florida Bar 18 years ago although I avoided the courtroom until relatively recently. Generally, I utilized my law degree and training to perform in a more administrative capacity. These experiences revealed to me how certain challenges compounded to create slum and blight in certain neighbors. My job at the Model City Trust, for instance, began with the acquistion of property. Often, we found closings derailed because a seller had not addressed a probate issue or a consumer issue. Unwittingly, people were compromising their wealth retention because of inattention these matters. When I began my practice, I determined that this would be my focus--wealth creation and wealth retention.
