Mark Glasser is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. He leverages his strong quantification and problem-solving skills, coupled with deep investment experience, to develop asset management approaches in an innovative fashion. Mark is particularly adept at using the full breadth of fixed income opportunities and vehicles to help generate returns from interest rate fluctuations and yields. His strategies often include mortgage-backed securities, structured products and other vehicles to reflect his views of the market.Taking a circuitous route to a career in investment services, Mark began as an actuary in the insurance industry, evaluating science-based decisioning. This led to a financial sales consultancy role trading investments for small companies. In 1989, Mark joined a large brokerage firm and made the Chairman's Council within his first year. During this time, he developed his fixed income capabilities and established a reputation for arduous analysis.Over the years, Mark built his advisory practice at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers using proprietary models and algorithms to trade high-dividend utility stocks. In 2011, he joined J.P. Morgan, drawn to the firm's fortress balance sheet and brand equity. He is pleased to offer clients the benefit of a global investment platform and extensive fixed income capabilities.Always mathematically focused, Mark attended MIT, where he earned a B.S. in Physics with a concentration in Finance. As a means of giving back, he is involved in the Khan Foundation, an organization that empowers low-income students by increasing college access through activity-based learning, leadership development opportunities and mentorship programs.Mark and his wife live in New York City with their dog, Kona. For enjoyment, he collects first-edition books, especially titles his father read to him as a child. He has also amassed an impressive assemblage of antique maps and one-of-a-kind watches, explaining his interest in the latter with the quip "It's about time."
