["Maddy, a Syracuse native, grew up in the area and graduated from Liverpool High School. She pursued her higher education at Le Moyne College, majoring in political science and minoring in legal studies, criminology, and philosophy. Maddy actively participated in Le Moyne College's Integral Honors Program, where she conducted in-depth research, wrote, and successfully defended her honors thesis titled "The Land of the Incarcerated and the Home of Racial Inequality: Mass Incarceration in the United States." Graduating summa cum laude with the highest distinction from the Honors Program, Maddy's academic journey also included an internship with DeFrancisco & Falgiatano Law Firm and a study abroad program in The Hague, The Netherlands, exploring international courts.", 'Driven by her passion for criminal justice reform and helping those in need, Maddy pursued law school at Syracuse University College of Law. During her time at the College of Law, she excelled academically and secured a position on the executive board of Syracuse Law Review, where she served as the Senior Notes Editor. As a member of Law Review, Maddy furthered her research on mass incarceration, race, and poverty, presenting her insights in the Note titled "Cracks in Equal Protection Analysis: A Critique of Courts' Treatment of Equal Protection Claims Stemming from the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986." Additionally, she contributed as a research assistant to professors in various legal fields, including criminal law and procedure, constitutional law, international law, and administrative/labor law.
