LUCAS CROSLOW litigates high-stakes disputes at trial and on appeal, including in the Supreme Court of the United States and all levels of the federal and state court systems. He also advises clients on government investigations, congressional matters, and federal and state regulatory proceedings. Lucas previously served as Deputy Solicitor General of Virginia, where he represented the governor, the attorney general, and government agencies in civil appeals in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit, and the Virginia Supreme Court, and in strategic litigation in district courts and federal courts of appeals throughout the United States. He also previously worked on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee as chief special counsel for the nomination of Justice Amy Coney Barrett and as special counsel for the nomination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Prior to law school, Lucas worked in derivatives sales and trading for an international investment bank. A native of rural Southern Indiana, Lucas received his J.D. from Yale Law School where he was an articles and essays editor of the Yale Law Journal and editor of the Yale Journal on Regulation and Yale Law & Policy Review . He graduated, cum laude , from The King's College, New York City, where he studied politics, philosophy, and economics, and was a collegiate house president and editor-in-chief of the Gadfly.
