Lee has always been an INNOVATORin her fields of interest: she was the first woman and the youngest person to complete her doctorate in the psychology department at the University of Alabama back in the day. During her 12 years as a full-time PROFESSORat the University of San Francisco, sheoriginated the still-ongoingwork/study course forstudents wanting to get volunteerexperience incommunity placements. As a REALTOR,Lee was the inventor of the two-hour Sunday open house, which quickly replaced in general practice the four-hour event!Also, she was the first realtor to puther name and personal phone number on For Sale signs, and was even chastised by the regional office of Century 21 for her pioneering efforts.(Spreaking of pioneering, Lee was one of a small group of women who successfully sued the all-men's rowing clubs in SF to gain entrance for swimming, rowing, handball, etc. for women). Some other practices Lee invented includeobtaininghome inspections for sellers, so that future buyers could be sufficiently informed to make "As Is"offers-- and requiring her agents to bring in substantial deposits on offers at a time when $1000 was typical)--todaybuyers typically deposit 3%! As a BROKERsince 1981, Lee has represented hundreds of buyers and sellers but still enjoys helping first-time homebuyers.
