By way of background, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where I minored in Legal Studies at Wharton School of Business and first became enamored with the practice of law. I then attended New York University School of Law and, upon graduating, began working in Manhattan at Willkie, Farr & Gallagher LLP, where I practiced trusts and estates law for many years. Working at the firm, I helped to implement lifetime and post-mortem strategies to reduce gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer (GST) taxes on transfers of personal and family business interests. I drafted both basic and complex documents, including Wills, revocable living trusts, health care proxies, living wills, powers of attorney, grantor trusts, insurance trusts, Crummey trusts, section 2503(c) trusts, testamentary and inter vivos credit shelter and GST tax trusts, qualified terminable interest property (QTIP) trusts, promissory notes, qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), charitable lead trusts (CLTs) and grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs).
