I grew up in Virginia. Upon completing high school, I attended the University of Virginia where I received a B.S. in Commerce (accounting) and a M.S. in Accounting (Taxation).While living in Richmond, my husband's construction company was recruited by the developers of Ships Watch and Buck Island to relocate to the Outer Banks. I followed my husband to the Outer Banks in May of 1989 after completing a very busy tax season at the CPA firm where I was working.The developers promptly hired me and I became the CFO and vice president of Finance for their various entities. This was the start of what has been a fascinating career in real estate. I was in the site trailer at Buck Island in Corolla when the road was cut and the wild ponies were daily visitors! I worked closely on the development of the TimBuck II shopping center as well as the residential side of things at Buck Island.By 1993, demand had become very strong for the building services of my husband's company, G.M. Wickre Corporation and I joined his staff full time to provide accountingand owner liaison services. We have become experts in executing the plans and dreams of numerous clients who want to be on the Outer Banks and wanted to do it in a unique way. I think this experience has honed a great ability to determine clients' needs, match those clients to properties, critique those properties and provide a plan for logical improvements or modifications that tailor what is available to what they want.
