Julia advises multinational clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions in international and cross-cultural settings. She focuses on identifying international corporate development goals in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, cross-border restructuring, international joint ventures, foreign investment, corporate governance, compliance, licensing and commercial agreements. Julia also advises clients in developing and implementing post-acquisition corporate and commercial integration strategies, corporate governance and compliance programs. Julia also serves as outside counsel to companies by providing practical advice on cross-border and US commercial transactions, corporate matters and other legal issues that arise during a company's day-to-day operations. Julia's experience includes working in-house for the Latin America and Caribbean Law Department at a large security systems company where she advised the business on international commercial and transactional legal issues in Latin America and the US, assisted in developing and implementing good corporate governance and compliance for the company's Latin American entities. She also contributed to global corporate restructuring projects, various spin-offs and mergers and acquisitions for the Latin America region and Europe, including coordinating legal aspects of financial transactions with treasury, tax and finance departments. In addition to Julia's in-house experience she has also been seconded to various multinational clients in various industries, e.g. healthcare, technology, manufacturing and automobile sectors.
