Joe Spataro is senior counsel in Gordon & Rees's Oakland office practicing in the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. He is well versed in all aspects of litigation through trial and appeal, and has defended and resolved innumerable cases in his career. Since 1999, he has defended claims based on allegations of asbestos exposure as well as consumer warranty matters. In this capacity, he has represented a broad spectrum of clients, including but not limited to industrial materials and products manufacturers, heavy equipment and machinery manufacturers, building products manufacturers, automotive and equipment manufacturers, multinational construction contractors, large commercial premises owners and an array of products, services and supply companies. He is skilled in all aspects of litigation and proficient with practically every asbestos exposure scenario. Mr. Spataro's prior experience includes commercial litigation, medical malpractice, real estate transactions, business formation, matrimonial law, criminal defense, probate, workers compensation and general liability. He has litigated from New York to Hawaii and from Alaska to Florida, and covers many points in between. This breadth of experience allows him to bring a different perspective to his cases. He views creativity and innovation as important components of a vibrant defense, and tries to incorporate new tactics and strategies whenever the situation allows for it.
