Dr. John E. Fagan served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War in the Medical Service Corps, earning an honorable discharge in 1977. He attended the University of Nevada at both Las Vegas and Reno and was awarded with membership in the Phi Lambda Alpha Honor Society and granted the Jewett W. Adams Academic Excellence Scholarship. Dr. Fagan then attended Pacific University in Oregon, obtaining his doctorate in optometry. While there, he was awarded the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society Research Design Award and worked in studies of nerve conduction of both the visual system and cognitive function.
