John received his real estate license in 1991 and worked with several offices before opening his own real estate company in 2007. John J Howard & Associates has grown to include offices in Baker, Union and Umatilla counties. John has worked with a cross-section of buyers and sellers, from first-time buyers to major investors, family farms and ranches. John has a very good understanding of the purchasing process from the sale agreement to working with lenders and with the title companies. The Howard Family John and his wife, Deb, have two sons who are married and have children. John and Deb enjoy spending much of their extra time with their grandchildren, their daughters-in-law and their two sons. There's always an event to attend or a project that they get invited to help out with. John and Deb have lived and worked in Eastern Oregon for many years and have enjoyed raising their family in the Grande Ronde Valley. They hope others get the opportunity to enjoy Eastern Oregon living also. Public Service John has been a longtime Union County resident and has a long history of serving his community in many ways. He first began serving as a volunteer as a fireman, city councilman and mayor for the City of Imbler. He then went on to serve as Union County Commissioner for 16 years. John has served as president of La Grande Main Street, president-elect of the Union County Chamber board, board member for United Way, President of La Grande Lions, and he was a Union County Little League coach for five years. He was named Union County Man of the Year in 2012.
