After becoming licensed as a salesperson in 1970, I sold real estate for 2 years and then became a licensed broker. In 1975 I bought the company I worked for and in 1983 I bought a Coldwell Banker franchise called Coldwell Banker Jim Bishop & Associates. I became a GRI, a CRS, CRB and an ePro. I have been active in the local Board of Realtors including past president, the Kansas Association of Realtors including past president, and active in the National Association of Realtors. My company has been a top producer for many years. My franchise expired with Coldwell Banker and now it is called Jim Bishop & Associates Realtors. Prior to getting into the real estate business after graduating college, I became an air force officer, attended pilot training, and became a fighter pilot flying the F4 Phantom. I spent a year in Viet Nam accumulating 238 combat missions. I am married with 2 children and 5 grandchildren. I am active in my church and the community. I have been the past president of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and the Pittsburg Noon Rotary Club. I, also, have been active at Pittsburg State University. I served as President of the university Foundation.
