Jim Barcelona is vice president of brokerage services/managing broker for @properties. He joined the firm in May 2018, and spearheads @properties' brokerage operations and business development in Chicago's western suburbs. Jim has helped open and oversee offices in Western Springs, Hinsdale, Downers Grove, St. Charles, Naperville, and Orland Park. He has also played a key role in @properties' expansion into Northwest Indiana. Through his recruiting efforts, he has helped generate over $1 billion in new sales volume for @properties. A native of Hinsdale, Jim grew up in a real estate family. He began selling real estate in 1999 as a commercial broker and spent 11 years specializing in multi-family investment sales. In 2011, he joined Burr Ridge's BankFinancial as vice president of REO and non-performing assets, where he oversaw the management and disposition of nearly $200 million in distressed properties and loans. Jim transitioned to residential real estate in 2013. Jim draws upon his depth of experience in real estate and banking to assist his agents. He coaches with a positive mindset and practical business-building measures, and uses frequent communication to help agents stay accountable to their goals. Jim's agents especially appreciate his willingness to roll up his sleeves and successfully navigate them through a transaction, as well as his ability to step back and support them in reaching their highest potential. Jim is a licensed managing broker in Illinois and a member of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS. He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. Jim lives in Naperville with his wife, Lily, and children, Elena and Vince.
