Hi Fam, I'm Jewell! I spent seven years as a licensed chef with the American Culinary Federation, before working eight years in the front of the house from Server to General Manager and everywhere in-between. When Covid struck, I was furloughed from an industry I knew and loved. Being a single Mom, and a homeowner myself, I needed to make quick decisions under pressure, with my family at the forefront. I jumped into the grocery store scene March of 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Within three days, I was offered management, and worked diligently to become a Service Manager and Customer Service Specialist, training others at four stores. Seventeen years in the combined service industries has taught me the value of personal relationships, working hard under pressure, and performing in the top of my field to achieve greatness. In the Fall of 2016, I started my own gluten-free and vegan Jam and Jelly company. Starting small and gaining confidence from co-workers, I began showing up at farmers' markets, women's events, and huge festivals. Selling jam and jelly to wedding venues, realtors for pop-bys, and eventually having working relationships with The Monarch Bar, Blackhole Bakery, Made in KC, and Cerner. I pulled back and shut down my business in February 2021, but plan to reopen it at a later date.
