Her roots are spread statewide. Her father was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war and met her mother in Seoul. They married and returned to Montana in 1967. Attending the University of Montana was a natural fit where she graduated with an MFA in Filmmaking and an MA in Fine Arts. Her first success in entertainment came winning a Gold Addy Award for best television campaign for the Missoula Independent Newspaper. She went on to work in television and film for two decades. She was the Executive Director for one of the most powerful Asian American entertainment nonprofits, CAPE, and sat on the Los Angeles County Arts Grants Committee. She has traveled throughout Asia and as a delegate representing Los Angeles and as a fellow of the USC Marshall School of Business. "I am fortunate to have traveled to so many beautiful places, but I inevitably long to be home in Montana." She enjoys all outdoors, especially time in Glacier National Park and on Flathead Lake: biking, boating, fishing, and walking her rescue dog Sugar.
