Originally from Jacksonville NC, I also lived in Wilmington, NC for 5 years. As a young man in search of adventure, I landed on Beech Mountain, NC . I quickly fell in love with the Mountains of North Carolina, they were such a change from my coastal upbringing. I started out as a ski and snowboard tech. in the childrens ski and snowboard school. Little did I know that I had a natural talent for skiing and snowboarding. After the first season I was promoted to the assistant director of the ski school, in the second season to the director. As the director I received my certification as a professional skier and a professional snowboarder.......and then I met my wife. With life put in a new prospective, Our first child was born and so was my real estate career. As a kid I thought real estate was boring. Grandparents on both sides and both my parents have brokers licenses. I was the only kid I knew that did their homework in empty houses and the back seat of a car while we showed property. But as an adult and after purchasing my first house, I thought real estate was exciting! So in 2006 my wife and I both got our licenses . The mountains in 2006 was a booming real estate market! It is a second home market with upscale architecture, long range views, and resort amenities. In 2008 on the other hand, it was all those things but the economy was tanking, almost overnight we watched values go down. This was a great lesson to learn not just for me but for our country as a whole. It taught me not to over extend ourselves in our housing decisions, the world can change! In 2009 with diversification and stability in mind, we moved back to to my hometown of Jacksonville. I began working with the family business and getting my contractors license. My wife began creating our second born. As we settled into our new life, we made some awesome new friends. I'm talking tacky sweater party, chinese christmas, BBQ every weekend friends. Well in true Jacksonville style they all got orders, they also all purchased during the top of the real estate bubble. Unable to sell their house's without losing money, putting them into rental was their best option. So out of this situation my wife and I decided this would be her part time job and we started Brown Properties. Since then what was a part time gig started growing and growing and growing. Now we both work full time as residential sales and property management Brokers. It is a pleasure and an honor to help people with their housing needs. Buying and selling a home is a big decision that is life altering, it is either the beginning of an era or the end of one. I love helping people through these times in their lives because I have been through it myself and with many other people.
