He has also handled workplace injury cases, along with maritime and railroad cases. Jay further has experience with product liability cases, such as tires and firearms. In addition, Jay handles select commercial cases. Prior to joining Abraham Watkins in 2002, Jay served as an Assistant District Attorney of Harris County, Texas.Jay was born in Miami, Florida. He moved with his family to Texas at the age of seven, and has lived here since then. He grew up in Houston and Corpus Christi, and then attended the University of Texas, where he obtained both his bachelor's degree and law degree. After college, Jay moved to Houston in 1980. He has practiced law based from Houston his entire career. With his wife of 30 years and two adopted daughters from China, Jay is a member of Houston's First Baptist Church and teaches Bible Study there.
