Janet Bidwell is an award-winning, top producing North Fork Realtor and Chairman's Gold Award Winner. Janet joined Douglas Elliman Real Estate in 2007 and as a Certified Buyer Representative, she has a strong reputation for being fair, collaborative and able to keep things calm when under pressure. A native Long Islander, Janet is a North Fork resident with a thorough understanding of the community. Her family, the Bidwell's, were one of the "pioneer" families of the North Fork Vineyard and Winery experience establishing Bidwell Vineyards and Winery in Cutchogue in 1979. Family owned, she learned the value of community, hard work and dedication. With a background in advertising and technology, Janet is comfortable with social media promotions and enjoys the challenges of creating innovative campaigns to launch new properties to the market and negotiating for her clients. Heavily involved in the community, Janet served on the board of directors of the North Fork Community Theatre, also directing productions and performing on stage in many musicals and comedies. An amateur astronomer, she served on the Dark Skies Advisory Committee for Riverhead Town. She participated in writing a lighting code adopted in 2007 to preserve the local dark skies from light pollution. This code was subsequently adopted by other East End towns. Janet served 9 years on the board of directors of Hallockville Museum Farm, preserving the agricultural heritage of the North Fork, and Janet is current Secretary of the Long Island Mineral and Geological Society. Other memberships: Greater Jamesport Civic Association, Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild, National Association of Realtors, Long Island Board of Realtors (former director), and the New York State Association of Realtors. In her free time, Janet enjoys jewelry making, kayaking, volunteering, meditation. She is active in Greyhound/Galgo and Dachshund rescue organizations.
