Jamie grew up in Lake Orion, Michigan, and now lives just one city over in Oxford, Michigan. She is the divorced mother of four children: Trevor, Emily, Ben and Everly.Jamie received her B.A. in Communications from Oakland University. Her Juris Doctor is from Thomas M. Cooley law school in Auburn Hills. She received the prestigious Certificate of Merit in Family Law and Trial Skills and was the assistant editor for the Law Journal. She also was a student attorney at the Family Law Assistance Project in 2011, and at the Macomb County Prosecutors office in 2012, where she worked with victims of domestic violence. Throughout law school she also interned for a criminal defense and family law attorney in Oakland County.Every year, Jamie volunteers at a low-cost animal clinic in Pontiac, Michigan. In addition, she volunteers at free legal aid clinics. Jamie loves outdoor sports including downhill skiing, road and mountain biking, rock climbing, white water kayaking, and camping.As for why she choose to be an attorney, Jamie says, "Prior to becoming an attorney, I had to navigate through the difficult and intimidating process of my own divorce without the proper guidance. Since then I have graduated from law school, and have dedicated myself to helping other others through the process of divorce with proper guidance."
