Throughout my life, helping others has been an integral part of who I am. I chose a career in financial services because I believe I can make a difference in the lives of the families and businesses in my community.I grew up in a small town with my father working as a math teacher and my mother working with Edward Jones as a Branch Office Administrator. Growing up, I was involved in sports. This experience taught me that I cared about encouraging those around me to do their best, therefore allowing the team to perform at the highest level. In high school, I was part of our West Plains Cross Country team where we dedicated ourselves to a winning culture in life, not just on the racecourse. Our head coach instilled in each of us core principles of integrity, industriousness, cooperation, loyalty, self-control, alertness and confidence that I carry with me throughout my life.I headed off to college at University of Missouri-Columbia to learn more about the world and myself. Gaining a psychology degree enabled me to understand myself and others on a deeper level. I became the president of the Mizzou Running Club my sophomore year and laid the foundation to compete on the national circuit with other running clubs across the nation.After college, I wanted a job that was not behind a desk, so I joined the hospitality industry which helped fulfill the needs of the community. I learned through this experience that people appreciated empathy and hard work. I knew I needed to seek out a career and joined Southern Glazers where I distributed wine and spirits to retail stores, ending that career as an area sales manager. My partner, Emma, and I wanted to move to Houston, Texas, to be closer to her family, so we made the move at the start of 2020.
