I grew up in a small northern Maine town bordering French-speaking New Brunswick Province, Canada. Upon graduation from high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years on active duty. My last duty assignment was in North Carolina, and I became a resident of North Carolina, attending Appalachian State University. I graduated from ASU's College of Business with a degree in marketing. I worked in sales and marketing for a few companies large and small, and eventually owned a few small businesses. While living in metro Charlotte, when I was married, my daughter's birth brought about a work / life / parenting balance dynamic that summoned the need for family changes, and I became a stay-at-home Dad. During this time I became a professional real estate investor, working from a home-based office. My real estate experience is broad, ranging from the boom years through the Great Recession starting in 2008 into the revitalized, corrected marketplace, through rebounding high growth conditions, the Covid-19 pandemic period, into the low-inventory-based price escalations, and finally the high interest rate elevations. I've bought, renovated, managed rental property and done flips of second homes, vacation homes, beachfront condos...various investment properties of all kinds. I've dealt with short sales, foreclosures, auctions, bank REO's, Fannie Mae properties and more. During the last five years I've become recognized as an AirBnB short-term rental property expert.
