Haresh Bhatia

I graduated from the University of Mumbai, located in India in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in biology. I started working in the insurance industry in May of 1988, and opened the doors to my agency in 1990. I love Schenectady because it is far enough from New York City to avoid the busy city life, but close enough that it is easy to visit. In my spare time, I like to be one with nature. Sometimes I'll swim, or grab the paddles and kayak in the Mohawk River or ski on the farmland I own near the river. It is also very important to me to support my community. I attend the Schenectady Hindu Temple, volunteer at Hamilton Hills Arts Center and I serve on the board at the Schenectady YMCA. I love baseball and am an avid fan of the New York Yankees. I am an Allstate agent because I love to connect with people since they deserve someone who cares. It's important to me that I get to learn about those in my community and it feels like a large, extended family. The people in Schenectady are so kind, and I enjoy hearing the stories that help make them so unique.
