Greg Scholten has over 10+ years of bookkeeping experience with a majority of the work being done in QuickBooks (online and desktop versions) and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor primarily dealing with QuickBooks Online. Greg holds both a Bachelor and Master degrees in accounting from Davenport University. Additionally, Greg is federally licensed as an Enrolled Agent and holds unlimited practice rights to represent taxpayers in front of all administrative levels of the IRS. Currently, he is finishing all the requirements required for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Over the last 5 years, Greg has gained in depth knowledge of tax law and currently is the VITA (volunteer income tax assistance) assistant program director for Davenport University's volunteer tax preparation program. In this role he oversees the quality and accuracy of all tax returns prepared, along with the administrative functions needed to operate the program. Greg is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and National Association for Tax Professionals. He also completed several hours of continued education monthly to stay current on tax law changes, tax planning, and .advanced/challenging tax topics. This education includes specific courses in tax resolution and tax representation. Finally, Greg is on staff at Davenport University as an adjunct accounting faculty member has taught a wide-range of accounting course. This includes instructing students in accounting concepts and tax law. He also primarily teaches future accountants and CPAs how to use QuickBooks, while helping students understand how each accounting transaction affects the system and financial statements.
