I am originally from Argos, Ind., where I grew up on a grain farm my dad still runs today. The life skills I learned on the farm have shaped who I am. I am a graduate of Bethel University where I played basketball and baseball while earning a degree in business administration. After graduation, I was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and went on to play professional baseball for 14 years. The foundation of hard work I learned on the farm directly translated into the hard work I needed to put in every day in the MLB. It was a special season of living out my childhood dream. In 2016, I retired from baseball and decided as a family to return to my home state of Indiana and begin our next chapter. My wife, Stephanie, and I, along with our three children, are proud to call Middlebury home.As I transitioned out of being a professional athlete, I knew I wanted my next chapter to be focused on giving back and helping people. I enjoy volunteering as a coach for our local little league and helping to inspire young athletes. One of the things I love most about Edward Jones is the amount of personalized care and attention that is given to each client; it's unsurpassed in this industry. I believe it’s important to invest my time in understanding what you’re working toward before you invest your money.
